This is a collection of chess biographies and the analysis of the games of uncrowned chess kings – Filidor, Laburdon, Staunton, Andersen and Morfi. J. I. Neischtadt describes the period between the middle of XVIII to the seventies of XIX century. He describes in details, particularly creative works of Andersen and Morfi. The book is abundant in detailed descriptions of chess analyses that contributed to different presentation of many classic games.
